Virginia Ranked No. 9 in AP Preseason Poll

Virginia opens the 2026-27 men’s basketball season ranked No. 9 in the AP poll and No. 10 in the USA Today Coaches poll, its highest preseason AP position since 2020-21. The Cavaliers return much of their rotation under coach Ryan Odom after a 30-6 first season and a second-round NCAA Tournament exit, and they were picked to finish second in the ACC.
