Voters Approve Colorado Ticket Tax, Arkansas Sunday Sales
Voters in Pine Bluff, El Dorado and Hot Springs, Arkansas, approved allowing retail alcohol sales on Sundays, while Redfield rejected the measure by 12 votes. The changes expand sales beyond restaurants and private clubs to grocery, liquor and other qualifying stores, though retailers can choose whether to open. Some Pine Bluff liquor stores say they will remain closed Sundays despite the vote. Supporters say Sunday sales could keep spending local, boost business and tax revenue, and create more work hours. Hot Springs’ results were still unofficial, and the city must complete further approval steps before sales can begin.
