Walmart+ Launches in Mexico at Half U.S. Price
Walmart launched its Walmart+ membership program in Mexico at roughly half the U.S. price, offering delivery and shipping benefits alongside streaming, health guidance, pharmacy discounts and extra mobile data through its Bait service. Separately, Walmart de México y Centroamérica reported third-quarter revenue up 3% to 248.83 billion pesos, while net profit fell 6.1% to 11.03 billion pesos as expenses rose faster; higher taxes accounted for much of the profit decline. E-commerce sales in Mexico increased 16%, and the company opened 42 stores during the quarter. For the first nine months, revenue grew 2.2%, but attributable net profit declined 1.7%, with Mexico’s growth offset in part by weaker results in Central America.
