Demond Williams Jr. Expected to Start for Washington vs. Penn State if Healthy

Washington coach Jedd Fisch said Demond Williams Jr. is expected to start Saturday against Penn State if he is healthy, with the team waiting until later in the week to assess his fractured rib. Williams came off the bench in the fourth quarter of Washington’s 17-10 win over Nebraska and led the decisive 81-yard touchdown drive, completing 7 of 13 passes for 99 yards and a score. His late-game spark followed a difficult outing from starter Elijah Brown, who threw for 136 yards as Washington’s offense struggled to move the ball. Brown had helped lead the Huskies to a win over Purdue while Williams recovered, so the change hinges on Williams’ health as well as his performance against Nebraska.
