Washington Trooper Injured in I-82 Crash
A Washington State Patrol trooper was injured Wednesday evening when a GMC Terrain struck his marked patrol SUV while he was assisting with a lane closure on Interstate 82, about 16 miles south of Kennewick. Trooper Matthew Parham, 38, was taken to Lourdes Medical Center for treatment; the 30-year-old driver from Hermiston was not injured. Initial reports said the driver failed to yield, with charges pending and possible impairment unknown. A later report said investigators suspected she was driving under the influence and that she was booked on a DUI count; the crash remains under investigation.
