Connecticut Delays I-95 Catch Basin Work to Nov. 1

The Connecticut Department of Transportation delayed planned catch-basin cleaning on I-95 from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1 and reorganized the work into phases. Crews will first clean bridge drainage basins in New Haven, West Haven, Orange and Milford, working overnight Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.; this phase is expected to last until mid-November. The maintenance is intended to preserve drainage and help prevent flooding, with later work planned for communities farther along the corridor. The schedule is weather-dependent, and transportation officials urge drivers to slow down and stay alert near work zones.
