Boil-Water Advisories Issued in Pinewood, Dowagiac
Boil-water advisories were issued after water-main breaks in Pinewood, South Carolina, and Dowagiac, Michigan. Pinewood residents were told to boil water for one minute before drinking or cooking and to avoid ice made from unboiled water while repairs continue. Dowagiac’s advisory covers the entire city; residents should boil water for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, and other uses, and officials expect it to remain in place for at least 48 hours while water samples are tested. The Dowagiac break also prompted Dowagiac Union Schools to dismiss students early. Separately, advisories in Jacksonville, Florida, and Deadwood, Texas, were lifted after repairs and water testing; Jacksonville’s notice covered the San Pablo Road and Beach Boulevard area.
