Regional Forecasts Bring Chill, Warmth and Frost Risks

Weather varies sharply across the regions: Eastern Iowa and Kansas City are turning cooler and damp after lingering clouds and occasional drizzle, with breezy, chilly conditions and highs in the 50s; patchy frost is possible outside Kansas City before sunshine and warmer temperatures return early next week. Chicago is also forecast to cool sharply after recent days in the 70s, with frost or a freeze possible by the weekend. In Texas’ Coastal Bend, cooler, drier air brings sunshine and pleasant conditions Wednesday, but humidity, warmth and possible showers are forecast to return Thursday, while Saturday’s rain prospects remain uncertain. Vermont and the North Country face unusually warm, potentially record-setting temperatures, gusty winds and localized fire-weather concerns before a late-week cold front brings showers and cooler conditions.
