Weekend Storms Could Bring Flooding Across Texas, Oklahoma
A Pacific weather system is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms across parts of Texas this weekend, with the greatest heavy-rain and flooding concerns in the Panhandle and areas east of the Rio Grande. Some storms in the Borderland could become severe, mainly Saturday and Sunday, with hail the chief threat and gusty winds also possible; forecasters say fast-moving storms may limit flooding there. Cooler temperatures are expected in the Panhandle after the system moves through, while the Borderland should turn drier early next week. A separate developing system could bring another round of heavy rain to parts of Texas and Oklahoma over Halloween weekend, with the highest precipitation risk in central and eastern Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.
