Montreal tunnel and bridge closures set to disrupt weekend traffic

Montreal-area drivers should expect weekend delays as the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel closes in both directions during overnight periods from Friday night through early Monday. Motorists will be detoured toward the Jacques-Cartier Bridge, and tunnel entrances will close 30 minutes before each shutdown; eastbound Souligny Avenue will also be closed between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets. On the Honoré-Mercier Bridge, one lane toward Montreal will be closed from early Saturday until Monday morning for steelwork. REM service will also start later on Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 20.
