Weight Watchers Names Former Ookla Chief Stephen Bye as CEO
WW International, the company behind Weight Watchers, has appointed Stephen Bye as president and chief executive officer and a member of its board, effective this fall. Bye most recently led Ookla, where he grew subscription revenue, improved profitability and efficiency, and integrated multiple acquisitions. He previously held senior roles at DISH Network, C Spire, Sprint and other telecommunications companies, bringing more than 30 years of leadership experience. Bye will lead Weight Watchers as it develops an integrated weight-health platform combining behavioral programs, clinical care, technology and access to GLP-1 medications, while the company seeks growth in areas including women’s health. The appointment follows the departure of former CEO Tara Comonte in March and comes after WW International emerged from bankruptcy last year.
