West Virginia Seeks First Big 12 Win Against Cincinnati

West Virginia and Cincinnati meet in Morgantown seeking to rebound from losses to Arizona, with both teams facing questions on defense. The Mountaineers have allowed more than 40 points in each of their Big 12 games, but their league-leading rushing attack, led by Cam Cook, poses a major challenge for Cincinnati after the Bearcats gave up 238 rushing yards in their loss. Cincinnati has also struggled to reach 200 passing yards in its past two games, while coach Scott Satterfield says winning one-on-one matchups will be important against West Virginia’s expected man coverage. A betting analysis expects an open, high-scoring game, citing both teams’ ability to move the ball and West Virginia’s vulnerable pass defense, and favors the over. West Virginia has won both matchups since Cincinnati joined the Big 12 and leads the all-time series.
