Westcott seeks subpoenas for Perry and Bloom over mansion payment balance
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom could be subpoenaed in the long-running dispute over the Montecito mansion they agreed to buy from businessman Carl Westcott for $15 million in 2020. After a court rejected Westcott’s effort to undo the sale, the remaining balance was reduced by damages awarded to Perry; Westcott now says he received only a $900,000 partial payment and is seeking permission to question the former couple about the roughly $4 million he says is still owed. Perry’s business manager, Bernie Gudvi, opposes the subpoenas and says the funds cannot be released while a separate dispute over legal fees remains unresolved; he has also accused Westcott of trying to harass Perry and Bloom.
