Western Australia Opens $153.3M Manufacturing Energy Loan Program
Colorado’s LEAP program will begin taking applications Nov. 1, offering eligible households a one-time payment toward heating bills and, in some cases, furnace repairs, replacements or weatherization. In Western Australia, manufacturers can apply for low-interest loans of $300,000 to $15 million through a $153.3 million program supporting energy-efficiency and energy-cost projects, renewable energy, storage, electrification and advanced manufacturing. Separately, a Minnesota opinion article argues that energy affordability should be a public priority and calls for nuclear power, contending that wind and solar cost more than nuclear and natural gas; it criticizes the state’s energy policies and utility regulation. The measures differ in focus, ranging from direct household assistance to industrial investment and debate over energy policy.
