Western Michigan president says no appeal exists for Michigan's disputed win

Western Michigan president Russ Kavalhuna said he sought a way to appeal the Broncos’ 13-12 loss to Michigan after Big Ten replay officials restored one second to the clock, but no appeal process exists. The decision followed a Hail Mary that appeared to end the game with the clock at zero; officials ruled that Western Michigan safety Micah Davis touched the ball with one second remaining after jumping from out of bounds, giving Michigan another play and a game-winning touchdown. The Big Ten defended the ruling using a stadium-clock feed unavailable to television viewers, while Kavalhuna described a discrepancy between what officials and the public saw and called for consideration of a formal review process. Western Michigan coach Lance Taylor said the officials did not cost his team the game and urged the Broncos not to use the controversial ending as an excuse, while Mid-American Conference officials said the review process was properly followed.
