White Sox Hiring Brewers Assistant Matt Roffe for Scouting Role

The Chicago White Sox are hiring Matt Roffe from the Milwaukee Brewers to lead their amateur scouting and draft operations, filling the vacancy left by Mike Shirley’s September resignation. Roffe, who most recently served as Milwaukee’s assistant director of amateur scouting, held several scouting operations roles there and previously worked for the Diamondbacks. The move reflects general manager Chris Getz’s effort to bring in talent from organizations known for developing players, though Roffe’s exact title and responsibilities have not been finalized. His hiring follows a White Sox draft led by top overall pick Roch Cholowsky and comes as the club seeks to strengthen its player-acquisition pipeline.
