Wichita Police Investigate Woman Found Dead in Suitcase
Wichita police are investigating a homicide after two people brought a suitcase containing the body of 67-year-old Lorretta M. Moody to Fire Station 22 on South Hydraulic Avenue on Sept. 16. Moody, who had previously been reported missing, was pronounced dead at the scene, and authorities identified her after fingerprint confirmation. Investigators are interviewing the two people who delivered the suitcase, working to determine their relationship to Moody, establish a timeline and identify locations and witnesses connected to the case. Police have not disclosed a cause of death or announced any arrests, and they said there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
