Willamette Pass Resort Triples Snowmaking Capacity After Difficult Winter

Willamette Pass Resort in Oregon has completed an expansion that more than triples its snowmaking capacity, growing its fleet from seven snow guns to 19 and adding top-to-bottom coverage. The system reaches trails including Kaleidoscope, Eagle’s Flight, Perseverance, By George, Rough Cut and Sleepy Hollow, and is intended to help the resort open earlier, maintain more consistent conditions and extend its season despite limited natural snowfall. The investment follows a difficult, unusually warm winter when snowmaking helped keep the resort operating. The project is the first step in the resort’s Master Development Plan, which outlines potential future infrastructure and terrain improvements. Willamette Pass plans to open for the season on Dec. 11, weather permitting.
