Wind and rain alerts cover B.C. and Washington coastlines
Multiple wind and rain alerts are in effect across British Columbia and Washington as storm systems move through the region. Greater Victoria faces southeasterly winds near 70 km/h and rain Friday, while warnings elsewhere in coastal B.C. call for gusts up to 120 km/h and heavy rain near Bella Coola, with localized flooding and debris hazards possible. In B.C.’s Lakes District and Stuart-Nechako region, gusts could reach 100 km/h. A high wind watch also covers Northern Washington’s coast and Grays Harbor County for Saturday, with gusts up to 60 mph and possible tree damage, power outages and difficult travel. Officials advise securing loose objects and monitoring alerts.
