Wisconsin Cities End Flock Contracts, Toledo Keeps Cameras
Toledo City Council rejected a proposal to end its contract with Flock Safety, leaving the license-plate reader cameras active while an independent review of their data continues. In Two Rivers, the council unanimously terminated its contract and ordered the cameras covered until removal; they had already been deactivated, and the city had disabled data sharing. Two Rivers officials said they may consider strategically placed cameras in the future but want federal guidance before entering another contract. The decisions come amid broader concerns about privacy, civil liberties and how information collected by the cameras is shared.
