Wisconsin Honors Eight Employers for Disability Hiring
During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Wisconsin’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation recognized eight businesses for inclusive hiring and workplace accommodations, spanning employers from Doggie Business in Holmen to West Bend Sausage Plus. The recognition highlights how inclusive employment can help workers with disabilities find meaningful opportunities while meeting employers’ workforce needs. In Colorado, Lift-Up and Ascendigo Autism Services described their ongoing partnership, where adults with developmental disabilities practice workplace routines and build skills through community-based work, including inventory management. In Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Mayor James Murdock proclaimed October Disability Employment Awareness Month, emphasizing workers’ contributions and urging employers to create inclusive workplaces.
