Woman dies in five-story Honolulu parking-garage plunge
Sandra H. Sato, an 84-year-old woman from San Jose, died Friday after her vehicle broke through a retaining wall on the fifth floor of a downtown Honolulu parking structure and fell about five stories onto a sidewalk, landing on its roof. She was pronounced dead at the scene and was wearing a seat belt; no other injuries were reported. Police have not determined what caused the crash or whether speed, drugs or alcohol were factors, and the investigation is ongoing.
