Woman Shot, Man Arrested After West Memphis Standoff

A woman was shot in the back and elbow after Chandler Williams allegedly fired multiple shots into a vehicle on Spears Street in West Memphis early Monday. The woman told police that she and Williams had been involved in ongoing relationship-related disputes and that she was traveling with a witness when the shooting occurred. Williams barricaded himself inside a residence, but police officers’ Special Response Team took him into custody. Detectives obtained a search warrant, and jail records list charges including first-degree domestic battering, a terroristic act and possession of a firearm by certain persons; the investigation is ongoing, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
