Kenya Helicopter Crash Kills Seven

Seven people were killed when a charter helicopter operated by Lady Lori Kenya went down near Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County, northern Kenya. The Eurocopter EC130 B4 was carrying guests with travel company &Beyond and crashed at about 9:13 a.m. local time, in rugged terrain that complicated search and rescue. Among the victims were several Americans and José Alberto Suárez, a prominent Florida-based journalist who led Telemundo’s operations in Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Myers–Naples. Officials said identities were being confirmed as investigators review flight data and witness accounts. The U.S. State Department and NBCUniversal expressed condolences, noting Suárez’s impact. Kenyan authorities and local operators continued multiagency responses amid challenging conditions for recovery and investigation.
