Two Greek Pilots Killed in Tanagra Air-Show Crash

A Greek Air Force two-seat F-4 Phantom crashed during a low-altitude maneuver at the Athens Flying Week air show near Tanagra, north of Athens, killing both pilots. The jet went down shortly after takeoff and erupted into flames, sending black smoke into the sky and triggering a major emergency response. Eleven firefighting aircraft and helicopters and 85 firefighters worked to contain a blaze that spread toward nearby woodland, while authorities evacuated parts of the area. Thousands of spectators were present, but no civilians or attendees were reported injured.
