Prince George Begins at Eton College

Prince George, 13, began his first day at Eton College on September 8, accompanied by his parents, Prince William and Princess Kate. He was welcomed by headmaster Simon Henderson and Provost Sir Nicholas Coleridge before changing from a navy blazer and chinos into Eton’s distinctive tailcoat uniform. George is expected to study at the all-boys boarding school until age 18, boarding there and returning to the family’s nearby Windsor home on weekends and holidays. The milestone continues a family tradition, as William and Prince Harry also attended Eton; the school has also educated several British prime ministers and other prominent figures. George previously attended Lambrook School and is second in line to the British throne. He appeared relaxed during the rainy arrival, while Eton reportedly took steps to protect his privacy and that of other pupils from excessive media attention.
