Memphis groomer charged after four dogs die; 36 seized from Florida man

A Memphis dog groomer, Keaton Stuckey, 33, was charged with four counts of aggravated animal cruelty after four dogs in his care died on Aug. 24. Police said the owner received videos showing two dogs dead and another vomiting, but Stuckey allegedly did not take any of the animals to a veterinarian; necropsies determined they died from heatstroke. In a separate case in Melrose, Florida, authorities rescued 36 husky-mixed dogs, including 11 puppies, from a 67-year-old man's home after years of complaints about aggressive animals escaping, fighting and attacking other dogs. Mark Plosila was charged with felony and misdemeanor animal cruelty, released on an $11,000 bond, and barred by court order from possessing animals. Fifteen of the rescued dogs were euthanized because of severe aggression, while the puppies and remaining adults were placed into care for rehabilitation and possible adoption.
