Harry, Meghan Set for UK Security Reviews

Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, were withdrawn from their new UK school after two days into the term. A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan told HELLO! the decision followed discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements, adding the parents remain extremely grateful to teachers and staff and that the move should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school. The family had relocated from the US roughly two weeks earlier. Bodyguards checked the first school over summer holidays but could not properly recce the school run until the first day of term; a security incident made it difficult for private security vehicles to stay in convoy. A friend of the couple said they absolutely adored the school and really wanted to make it work, but the team could not make the school run operationally secure. The children reportedly attended a taster session at another school with Prince Harry. Meghan posted an Instagram video of the children’s new UK life. RAVEC is conducting new risk assessments after the extended UK stay and has reportedly requested details of daily routines. Meghan’s expected review would be her first government-backed security review since 2020. A RAVEC meeting on their security was delayed last week without public explanation. King Charles sent a letter to more than 100 senior stakeholders affirming they are not working royals and that security concerns should go to the relevant police authorities; the couple were reportedly given about an hour’s notice before release.
