Man Shot by ICE Agent in North Austin, Officials Say

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer shot and wounded a man on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2026, in the 7000 block of West Anderson Lane near Research Boulevard in north Austin. Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said the man was shot at least once and was in serious but stable condition at a hospital. Austin police said no APD officer took part in the shooting; local officers handled traffic control and scene security. The Texas Department of Public Safety said ICE is handling the investigation.
