At Least 11 Killed in KwaMakhutha Mass Shooting

At least 10 people were killed and three others wounded when armed men entered a house in the Ziko area of KwaMakhutha, south of Durban, late Tuesday night and opened fire on 14 people gathered inside. Other reports put the death toll at 11, and said a pregnant woman was among the victims. Police and the eThekwini District Tracing Team were investigating, but no arrests had been reported and the motive remained unknown. KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli was expected to visit the scene, meet with officials and affected families, and assess the response.
