Two Women Escape Canton Corrections Center, Remain at Large

Two women, Hope Skerrett and Kerriah Ohler, escaped from the Stark Regional Community Correction Center in Louisville, Ohio, shortly after 7 p.m. Monday, and fled into a nearby nature preserve. Police searched with a drone and K-9 unit, finding white tennis shoes and discarded dark clothing, but the women remain at large; arrest warrants have been issued. Investigators say the women may have planned to be picked up near a Walmart on U.S. Route 62 and travel to Florida. Police reports describe a possible inappropriate relationship between Ohler and a recently fired facility employee as a factor in the escape.
