Coast Guard Offloads $226.7M Drug Haul
The U.S. Coast Guard offloaded about 29,600 pounds of cocaine and 3,355 pounds of marijuana, valued at $226.7 million, at Port Everglades. The haul resulted from six interdictions conducted by the Coast Guard Cutter Tampa, with help from partner agencies, during operations in the Eastern Pacific. Coast Guard officials planned to discuss the seizures and the broader counter-drug effort at a news conference.
