Makiki stabbing death leads to suspect’s arrest

A man in his 40s was critically injured in a stabbing on Young Street in Honolulu’s Makiki neighborhood on Oct. 16 and later died at the hospital. Honolulu police investigated the death as a homicide and, after reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence, arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree murder the following day. Prosecutors will determine charges after reviewing the case.
