Husband Charged After Wife’s Burned Remains Found

Jasmine Gill, a 30-year-old nurse and mother of an eight-month-old, was last seen at her Sacramento home on September 30, 2026, and reported missing by her cousin on October 4. Burned human remains found in El Dorado County on October 1 were identified as hers. Her husband, 28-year-old Gurinder Gill, told investigators that ICE agents had taken her while she collected the mail, but ICE confirmed no enforcement activity had occurred at their home. Detectives cited inconsistencies in his account and learned the couple were involved in a divorce and child-custody dispute. Gurinder was arrested on a murder charge on October 14 and is being held without bail; authorities have not publicly detailed the cause or circumstances of Jasmine’s death.
