Indianapolis Investigates New Suspected Murder-Suicide

Indianapolis police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after a man and woman were found dead in a northwest-side apartment on Oct. 22; officers believe the man may have been responsible, and several children were present. The incident occurred days after 33-year-old Shatayvia Alisha Calderon and her 9-year-old son, Julian, were found shot dead in their home on Oct. 19. In Calderon’s case, police believe she shot her son before taking her own life; investigators recovered a firearm and spoke with a cooperative witness, while the circumstances and any motive remain unclear.
