Two Arrested in Fatal DSU Homecoming Shooting
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the Oct. 10 shooting at the Dover Commons shopping center after Delaware State University homecoming events, which killed 22-year-old Nasir Cox of Philadelphia and wounded a 21-year-old man. Police said thousands had gathered nearby and Cox was reportedly caught in the crossfire. A 22-year-old Dover man was arrested at his home on Oct. 16, where investigators recovered a handgun, ammunition and clothing they said matched items worn during the shooting. A second suspect was arrested in Snow Hill, Maryland, on Oct. 21 and, according to police accounts, is 17; he is being held pending extradition to Delaware. Both face charges including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and multiple firearm-related offenses. Police have not publicly detailed what led to the shooting.
