Albuquerque parents sentenced in murder and child overdose cases
Albuquerque resident Munah Green was sentenced to 11 years after pleading no contest to murder and conspiracy for directing her 17-year-old son, Rickey Rodgers, to shoot Richard Powell in 2025; Rodgers also pleaded no contest and awaits a separate hearing. In a separate case, Gabriella Muniz received an 18-year sentence after pleading no contest in the drug-related death of her four-month-old son, and the child’s father, Victor Gonzales, was sentenced to 22 years. Monique Sanchez and Thomas Soto admitted their roles in the 2024 overdose death of their one-year-old child and face sentences of up to 15 years each; two other children in their home also tested positive for drugs.
