Hawaii Man Indicted for Attempted Murder After Firing at Officers

An Oʻahu grand jury indicted 43-year-old Sean Warnet on charges including first-degree attempted murder after police say he fired several shots at officers responding to a domestic-abuse call in Kailua on Oct. 21, then barricaded himself before surrendering. No injuries were reported. The charges also include firearm and prohibited-weapon offenses, including allegations involving a ghost gun, and abuse of a family or household member; Warnet is held without bail, and a conviction on the attempted-murder charge could carry life imprisonment without parole. Separately, federal prosecutors indicted Honolulu resident and felon Penitila Faamoe, 24, for allegedly possessing a loaded revolver with an obliterated serial number while out on bond in a pending state case tied to a 2025 shooting. Faamoe faces up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
