Three arrested in alleged Georgia school shooting plot
Three people were arrested in connection with an alleged conspiracy to carry out a shooting at Cherokee High School in Canton, Georgia, after the FBI alerted local authorities to threatening social media posts. A juvenile from Canton was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and interfering with public-school operations; 17-year-old Shane Keith Taylor and 21-year-old Michael Brandon Terry were later arrested in Georgia and California, respectively, and charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Investigators collected firearms, ammunition and electronic devices, but said they know of no ongoing threat to Cherokee High or other schools in the county. Authorities have not disclosed the suspects’ alleged roles or how they were connected.
