Report: Megaspeed Executive Accused of Spying for China
U.S. intelligence agencies reportedly concluded that Alice Huang, a Chinese citizen and Megaspeed executive, acted as an intelligence asset passing information to Beijing, and officials were concerned about her relationship with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and possible access to company information. President Donald Trump was reportedly briefed about the findings roughly a year ago; Jensen Huang and Nvidia received no warning briefing. Trade records cited in earlier reporting showed Megaspeed’s Malaysian affiliate bought at least $4.8 billion in Nvidia-powered equipment in less than two years, raising concerns that Megaspeed may have helped Chinese firms obtain restricted AI chips. Nvidia said its contacts with Megaspeed executives were routine, that customers could not access trade secrets or sensitive national-security information, and that allegations of chip diversion had been investigated and debunked last year. Megaspeed said it would cooperate with U.S. authorities, while China’s embassy dismissed the allegations as groundless.
