Kidnapping-Related Charges Reported Across Five Jurisdictions
Authorities in Queensland, Utah, Massachusetts, Arkansas and Hawaii reported separate cases involving allegations of kidnapping, abduction or related violence. In Queensland, a suspect faces domestic-violence and numerous weapons charges after police say he was found with a sawn-off shotgun. In Utah, Jacob Wayne Wilson faces charges tied to two incidents, including allegedly violating a protective order and assaulting a protected woman in front of a child, as well as kidnapping her in a separate episode. In Massachusetts, Marvin Kentrez Pryien pleaded not guilty to charges including kidnapping after allegedly stealing a car with a 6-year-old inside; the child was evaluated at a hospital and released, and Pryien was held without bail. In Arkansas, Jaylen Scales faces a theft charge after a woman alleged he assaulted and choked her, took her belongings, struck her with a car and dragged her along a roadway; in Hawaii, Diesel Kawelo is charged over an alleged attempt to abduct a woman in a parking garage and assault an older bystander who intervened, and has made an initial court appearance. The allegations in these cases have not been established in court.
