Workers Rescued in Three Soil Cave-Ins
Workers were rescued in three separate soil-collapse incidents. In Green Bay, a person trapped chest-deep in sand at Peters Concrete was taken to a hospital, and a firefighter was injured during the rescue. Near Vedant Circle in Surat, a 24-year-old worker was pulled from a trench after soil caved in and was reported in critical condition. In Queens, firefighters carried out a technical rescue after a construction worker became trapped waist-deep in a trench; one report said he was hospitalized in moderate condition with minor injuries, while another said his condition was unknown.
