Louisville Memorial Honors 15 UPS Crash Victims
Louisville marked the first anniversary of UPS Flight 2976’s Nov. 4, 2025, crash with memorial services honoring the 15 people killed, including all three crew members, and supporting their families, survivors and first responders. The MD-11 cargo plane crashed near Grade Lane shortly after taking off for Honolulu after an engine separated; dozens were injured, and the surrounding community was devastated. City and state leaders, UPS representatives and pilots attended a remembrance ceremony at the Okolona Fire Department, where a bell rang 15 times for the victims. A citywide observance invited institutions to ring bells at the time of the crash, followed by a minute of silence. The National Transportation Safety Board’s investigation into the cause remains ongoing.
