Winston-Salem State Shootings Leave One Dead, Three Injured

Two shootings during homecoming weekend at Winston-Salem State University left one person dead and three injured. Authorities said the incidents appeared isolated, though details about the second shooting remained limited. Police arrested 20-year-old Ziyaire Spinks on murder and firearm-on-educational-property charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man. A 22-year-old woman who was shot was treated and released. The university canceled the remaining homecoming activities, lifted an earlier lockdown and said the campus was secure, with extra law enforcement and counseling available.
