World Acceptance Swings to $8.8M Q2 Profit
World Acceptance reported fiscal second-quarter 2027 revenue of $139.2 million and net income of $8.8 million, or $1.92 per diluted share, reversing a year-earlier loss; six-month net income was $14.9 million. Earnings exceeded analyst expectations, although revenue was reported below consensus. Credit indicators were mixed: delinquency rates improved year over year, but quarterly net charge-offs rose to $42.2 million from $41.1 million, and annualized net charge-offs increased to 17.6% from 17.1%. The lender repurchased 133,199 shares for about $25 million, while gross loans edged up to $1.32 billion. Tighter underwriting has weighed on customer growth and new-customer lending, underscoring the continuing challenge of balancing loan growth with credit risk.
