Wyoming Rededicates War Memorial, History Courtyard
The Louisa Swain Foundation rededicated the renovated courtyard at the Wyoming Women’s History House in Laramie, marking the site’s 25th anniversary and honoring original supporters Cynthia Lummis, Jon Johnson and Ray Hunkins. The courtyard includes new gathering areas and gardens, dedicated to Diana Enzi and in memory of Bobbi Barrasso, as well as a mural depicting Louisa Swain and Nellie Tayloe Ross. The site celebrates Swain, who became the first woman in the United States to vote on equal terms with men when she cast her ballot in 1870.
