Yamashita Leads Maybank Championship by Two

Defending champion Miyu Yamashita shot a bogey-free 6-under 66 to take a two-stroke lead at 13-under after two rounds of the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur. Yamashita credited consistent ball striking and distance control on the narrow, hilly course, and is five shots ahead of her halfway pace from last year’s playoff victory. Pauline Roussin-Bouchard and Julia Lopez Ramirez share second at 11-under; Roussin-Bouchard remains bogey-free, while Lopez Ramirez closed with birdies on three of her final four holes. A Lim Kim is fourth at 10-under after the day’s best round, a 64. Charley Hull surged with five birdies in her first six holes but bogeyed two of her final three to finish tied for fifth at 9-under.
