Yoshida wins maiden LPGA title by one
Yuri Yoshida captured her first LPGA Tour title at the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea, finishing one stroke ahead of Haeran Ryu and Hye-Jin Choi, who tied for second at 16 under. Starting the final round four shots back, Yoshida surged with an eagle and three consecutive birdies, then held on after a birdie at the 17th and a bogey at the last. Ryu, who began the day with a four-shot lead, struggled to make birdies and bogeyed the 16th and 18th; Choi also missed her chance to force a playoff with a par on the final hole. The result was Choi’s ninth career LPGA runner-up finish and her second consecutive runner-up result.
