Zelenskyy Says He’d Accept Front-Line Ceasefire
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade he would accept a ceasefire freezing fighting along current front lines, with Ukraine retaining at least 75% of its territory. "Yes, right now we have to freeze, and I think this is a real way to end this war. We call it a ceasefire or ‘stop killing,’ as President Trump called it. Freeze and stop," he said. He said Ukraine needs security guarantees from the United States and Europe, urged talks that include Ukraine, and called his Oslo meeting with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff productive, with Jared Kushner joining remotely. Witkoff met Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg as Russia announced diesel shipments to the U.S. under an agreement with Trump and released a U.S. citizen held since the war began. Zelenskyy visited Norway’s Parliament on October 21, 2026, said Starshield remains "still limited," and cited a need for 9.5 million displaced Ukrainians to return. CONTESTED: Outlets do not dispute that Zelenskyy stated willingness to freeze the front lines. The Wall Street Journal reported Elon Musk ordered a Starshield slowdown for Ukrainian forces; Musk had suggested any restrictions would have been authorized by Trump, which Trump denied. Zelenskyy said he hoped for results from Witkoff’s meeting within hours and backed initial ceasefires on food security, maritime activity, and energy infrastructure. Russia’s consent and the status of occupied territory remain unresolved.
