ZTE Summit Opens in Kuala Lumpur, Drawing 500 Leaders

ZTE’s 2026 Global Summit and User Congress in Kuala Lumpur brought together more than 500 government officials, operators, technology companies and ecosystem partners to discuss the shift from connectivity infrastructure toward AI-enabled digital value. Malaysian officials urged technology companies to build local capabilities, develop talent and translate AI into improved public services, productivity and economic opportunities, including the country’s goal of becoming an AI nation by 2030. ZTE presented a roadmap integrating networks, computing and devices, including its AIR MAX framework for AI-native mobile networks, autonomous network operations and services for emerging AI agents. Separate ZTE forums in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta focused on improving the efficiency and cost of AI computing—particularly inference and token usage—and on developing open service ecosystems through partnerships among operators, vendors, cloud companies and academia. In Jakarta, ZTE and XLSMART highlighted the delivery of Indonesia’s largest network integration project as an example of collaboration supporting the country’s digital economy and future AI-driven network optimization.
